Judges

The primary goal of ASA DataFest at Kansas State University is to provide a rewarding experience for undergraduate students that sharpens their analytical skills and gives them confidence that they can take what they learn here out into the "real world". To help accomplish this, we seek judges from academia and industry to help evaluate team projects and provide informal feedback to student teams.

Sign-Up

Industry representatives and K-State faculty and research staff are welcome to serve as Judges for the event. Those wanting to serve a Judge should be sure to sign up.

Responsibilities

Teams will have five minutes and three slides to make their case. Judges will be provided a rubric and are encouraged to take notes to assist with the awards deliberations. The student presentation and judging schedule is:

12:30 pm Judges Arrive
1:00-2:30 pm Student Presentations
2:30-3:00 pm Judge Deliberations
3:00-4:00 pm Awards Ceremony

Judges should arrive at the event venue no later than 12:30 pm on Sunday. If you want to visit with the teams and Consultants, or enjoy some food, please arrive a little earlier . The event should conclude no later than 4:00 p.m.

All teams will receive a Certificate of Participation. There will also be awards for a variety of categories, including "Best in Show", "Best Insight", "Best Visualization" and the "Judges Pick".

Feedback
