ASA DataFest is a data analysis challenge where students work in teams to attack a large and complex surprise dataset over one weekend. The event is sponsored nationally by the American Statistical Association (ASA) and hosted locally by the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics. The main goal of the competition is to get undergraduate students to compete (and collaborate) on a data analysis question that is beyond the scope of what they likely see in their classes. Project judging is based not only on the computational and the analytical skills of the competitors, but also how well they communicate their results in a short amount of time.

Sponsorship Levels

If your organization would like to co-sponsor this event, contributed funds will be used to provide prizes, t-shirts, and food to participants throughout the weekend event. Be a Visitor, Mentor, or Judge

In addition, you or your colleagues are welcome you to stop by informally as a Visitor, serve as a Mentor, or be an event Judge. If you are interested in serving as a Mentor or Judge, please sign up! We envision the Visitors interacting with and mentoring students, brainstorming with them, and providing statistical, computational, or application specific guidance for short periods anytime during the event. No need to sign-up, come and go as you please!
