Part B - KSUnite DEIB Conference Day 1 - November 14, 2022 - Breakout Sessions Period 2 (3:30pm-4:20pm)
Bluemont Room
Focusing on the notion of "global citizenry," members of the Manhattan business community in our first session, a panel discussion, will cover how people living in Manhattan can still have a global impact, largely due to the rapidly growing opportunities brought about by our biosecurity and agriculture research expertise. We will highlight some local entities that do global work and also discuss what living in Manhattan is like. In our second session of roundtable discussions, we will ask K-State students about their experiences living here as students, and discuss the likelihood that they will stay here after graduation.
We will discuss local DEI efforts as well as highlight businesses with cultures that promote the talents and gifts of professionals from many different backgrounds. Some of our presenters are based in Manhattan but their colleagues and clients may be anywhere in the world. We will show the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces.
DEIB Challenge Level: Intermediate
