The Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center effort has been an essential component of the Action Plan for a More Inclusive K-State and the recently announced strategic plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at KSU. This session will educate the community about the TRHT framework and the recently developed action plan to move this effort forward at all KSU campuses. The session will serve as an informational update on the progress of this initiative as well as an opportunity to explore how various university entities may be able to collaborate to foster healing and substantive transformation within the Kansas State University community.

Corey Williamson has served as the executive director of the K-State Student Union since 2018. In his role as Executive Director, Williamson leads a team of 29 full-time staff members and 100+ student employees towards fostering a sense of belonging and community well-being at Kansas State University. Williamson is responsible for managing contractor relationships, assessment initiatives, facility management and the financial stability of the unit.

Williamson has lead Kansas State University’s efforts to host a Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center supported by the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). TRHT is a framework designed to eliminate the false ideology of hierarchy of human value based on race or other human characteristics. The vision of Kansas State University’s TRHT Campus Center is for K-State to commit itself to building affirming environments and learning communities that value our backgrounds and intersectionalities and contribute to the inherent dignity and growth of all.
