More than Athletics: How Title IX Impacts All Campus Community Members
KSUnite DEIB Conference Day 2 - November 15, 2022 - Conference Workshops (2:00pm-3:00pm)
Cottonwood Room
Title IX, at its heart, is intended to bring equal education access to all by addressing claims of sexual harassment in the education setting. This presentation will review this objective and look specifically at how different political administrations have approached Title IX enforcement and ask what has been effective and what will be.
This session will focus on the non-Athletics side of Title IX, which investigates and adjudicates claims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual violence, and similar concerns. The presentation will walk through the history of Title IX in this space, discuss the current state of the regulations governing review of Title IX claims, and how community members can be an ally in these issues.
