Maximizing our work to create access and success for our community
The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at K-State has heralded “full educational privileges” regardless of gender, race or creed. Since 1863, our commitment to access, opportunity and success has remained unchanged.
K-State strives to be an institution of higher learning that values and champions the contributions, interests and narratives of diverse cultural and social groups, and we prepare our students for global citizenry through an increased depth of understanding and critical examination of topics along the diversity continuum.
In 2022, a strategic plan was developed that built on the 11-Step Action Plan for a More Inclusive K-State that was established in 2020. Now, with the introduction of the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan, it is time to align the important work of the office to fulfill our collective goals as K-State prepares to lead the nation as the next-generation land-grant university.
Objectives
Evaluate the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging by reviewing its structure and address how the vision and mission of the office is integrated to maximize programmatic support for students, faculty and staff. Additionally, consider its collaboration and partnership with other units across our campuses, including the Morris Family Multicultural Center and International Student and Scholar Services.
Timeline
The committee will meet weekly and submit an initial assessment report in December 2024. A final assessment report will be submitted on or before April 1, 2025.
