Description:
PFC exists to increase the financial capability of K-State students through the following services: Free peer-to-peer confidential financial counseling, financial workshop presentations to student groups, campus-wide educational programming, and a comprehensive website describing financial resources and tools. PFC also provides a unique hands-on pre-professional experience for students in a finance-related field of study to volunteer at PFC as peer financial counselors. PFC also promotes K-State's online Money 101 and LoveYourMoney.org financial education efforts for college students throughout Kansas and beyond in partnership with K-State Research and Extension specialists. Additionally, PFC is an active member of the Manhattan community's Financial Literacy Council, which consists of a cross-section of financially aware individuals and organizations who work to create synergy and enhance current community financial literacy efforts. The PFC Program Manager also serves on the Executive Board & Marketing and Asset Development Committee of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, a non-profit public charity serving the needs of the greater Manhattan area to enhance the quality of life both today and in the future.
