Charlotte specialized in Technical Communication, with interests in workplace communication, gender and minority rhetorics, and game studies. She taught courses in technical and professional communication. Her projects included exploring structural secrecy at NASA, LEGO Serious Play, and gender and minority representation in video games.
Charlotte received a graduate research award from the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and Janice M. Lauer Award for excellence in dissertation work while at Purdue University. In 2015, she was a co-recipient of the John Lovas Memorial Award for best academic blog for Not Your Mama’s Gamer.
