First-generation Student Center

About

We support first-generation students (those whose parents or guardians did not complete a four-year degree) by connecting them to campus resources, coordinating efforts across the university to serve them, and fostering a first-generation community.

Vision
To make K-State the top college choice for first-generation students, maintain our status as a national model, and reduce the existing equity gaps in first-generation student educational outcomes. Our goals align with Next-Gen K-State Strategic Plan.
Mission
By working collaboratively with campus partners, the First-generation Student Center (FGSC) leads student success efforts by welcoming first-generation students to K-State, fostering a sense of belonging and community, promoting academic success and well-being, and connecting students to enriching learning experiences.
