After retiring from a career with Farm Bureau Financial Services, Dan became involved with the K-State Gardens as a way to volunteer and support the growth of the Gardens. He is a native Kansan, K-State Alum, Riley County Extension Master Gardener, and Purple Thumbs Volunteer.

A career educator – “townie”, teacher, volunteer and alum of K-State. Has experience with grant design and is committed to group goals supporting the Gardens’ long-term vision.

A career educator, with a lifelong love of learning and growing plants. Rosemary joined the Friends board to learn more and to engage in the Manhattan community.

Worked with a local engineering consulting firm before retiring. After working with a Gardens’ board member to landscape his yard, he was encouraged to join the board.

After graduating from the K-State College of Education, Nancy moved from the area and retured to Manhattan in 2011. She worked in the Gardens visitor center for two years and has been a board member for over 10 years.

Fan of the Gardens since a KSU student in the 1970’s where she often walked the original gardens. Career educator and sports coach – junior high and special ed high school. A Sedgwick County Master Gardener, volunteer, and all around K-State supporter.

Chair for 150^th Celebration of the Gardens, a K-State alum, with career experience in education and the Federal Civil Service. Loves flowers – growing, learning, and sharing them with visitors.

Retired elementary teacher who served on several K-State boards and is a member of several service organizations. Wishes to support the Gardens and help it grow and develop.

Don, a K-State mechanical engineering alum, joined the board to help broaden the recognition and support of the K-State Gardens beyond gardeners, he was a non-gardener at the time of joining. A Manhattan resident after retirement, Don is now involved in gardening at his home.

A K-State alum and retired K-Stater alumni magazine editor. A flower gardener since childhood led to personal garden on the Manhattan Garden Tour four times. As Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Advisor, led effort to raise money for Rose Garden at Bidwell Fountain resulting in joining the K-State Gardens board.

After graduating from K-State, her various career paths led her to attending law school at the age of 42, after which she practiced law in Nebraska. She likes that the Gardens offer a venue to slow down and absorb nature.

A philanthropist who supports a variety of organizations, through advocacy, charitable giving, and volunteering. A major supporter of K-State students mental health and wellness intiatives, and first generation college students. She serves on the KSU Foundation Board of Trustees.

Retired 4-H Specialist who focused on youth gardening projects and community garden initiatives. As an avid gardener sees gardens as a resource for students, staff and community.

Lifelong family floral business led to becoming a “Plantmaniac”. Ater visiting the Gardens for years, it was time to give back by joining the board. Involved in various activities including hands-on volunteering and serving as a Gardens docent.

Retired from the K-State Counseling Program and channeled love of gardening into volunteering at the Gardens and Board membership. In addition, she is involved in several local gardening groups.

A retired RN-MS loves gardening and encourages others to welcome new experiences. Volunteers as a Purple Thumb and Gardens docent and a new member of the Board.

A K-State grad and career educator. Lifelong love of gardens led to desire to spread awareness of the K-State Gardens through becoming a board member.
