Math Pathways
Starting in the fall 2025, K-State will offer math course pathways that are determined by the student’s major.
K-State Math Pathways Gateway Courses
Some programs require an advanced math course to fulfill this pathway.*
*Students should consult their advisor and appropriate degree maps to determine their math pathway and their gateway course.
Corequisite Courses
A student passing any of the multiple placement measures may take the standard course. Otherwise, the student must take a corequisite course alongside the standard course. Corequisite courses give timely background on the topic to promote student success. The gateway courses with corequisite at K-State are:
K-State Math Pathways Gateway Courses with Corequisite Support
+ MATH 101 College Algebra Support
+ MATH 161 Introduction to Contemporary Mathematics Support
+ STAT 226 Introduction to Statistics Support
By KBOR statute, credits from the corequisite courses will not count toward a student's associate or baccalaureate degree.
