Our faculty advisors will help you succeed during your time at K-State by assisting with career planning, establishing course schedules, finding study abroad programs, searching for research assistantships and internships, and connecting you to important campus resources.

Upon admittance, undergraduates will be assigned an advisor who shares similar interests. Graduate students select their own major advisor to supervise their research.

- Handshake - Handshake is the Career Center's recruiting and career services platform for K-State students, alumni and employers. Students can use Handshake to connect with employers, search for jobs and internships, review career fair/event information, and manage on-campus interviewing.
- KSIS - K-State's Student Information System provides students, staff, and faculty with access to student data including admissions, class scheduling, financial information, and more. Students who have been admitted to K-State are granted access to KSIS through an automated process.
- K-State Undergraduate Catalog - The K-State Undergraduate Catalog is an electronic reference for those interested in academic policies, procedures, and programs of the university. Degree requirements and programs are organized by colleges and departments. Course descriptions are provided to help you and your academic advisor plan your academic choices.

- Navigate - Navigate allows academic advisors to provide consistent and coordinated care for students while helping them navigate their college experience with greater clarity and success.
Helpful Programs and Support Services
- Center for Advocacy, Response, and Education - Confidential, free and voluntary services, and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual harassment are offered here.
- Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs - Promotes diversity and builds an inclusive campus climate that fosters mutual understanding among diverse groups.
- K-State Career Center - The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students throughout the K-State community.
- K-State First - K-State First is the University's first-year experience program, our way of helping students establish a great foundation for the rest of their college career.
- Lafene Counseling and Pyschological Services (CAPS) - K-State CAPS offers workshops, group therapy, couple's therapy, and short-term goal-oriented individual therapy to eligible K-State students.
- LGBT Resource Center - Dedicated to supporting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) students, staff, and faculty and allied members of our campus and surrounding communities to be more secure, educated, and productive in their personal and professional surroundings.
- Office of Student Success - Designs and provides holistic, inclusive, research-based, and student-centered programs to enrich and support K-State students as they strive to achieve their academic, personal, and career goals.
- Office of First-Generation Students - Supports students who will be the first in their families to graduate from a four-year college by connecting them to campus resources, coordinating efforts across the University to serve them, and fostering a first-generation community.
- Powercat Financial - A peer-to-peer program where students studying financial planning or financial services offer counseling to fellow students on budgeting, saving, credit, student loan repayment, and transitioning to work.
How to Change Majors
As you pursue your passion in college, you might decide that a different major would better suit your needs. Follow these instructions from the College of Arts and Sciences on Changing Majors to make this process as simple as possible.
Prepare for Undergraduate Graduation
After you have completed a minimum of 85 credit hours, and before your final semester of courses, students should request a "grad check" to confirm that you will meet all graduation requirements for your degree.
