Marie R. Bonebrake Graduate Award

The recipient(s) of this award will be a graduate student(s) properly enrolled in on-campus courses in any graduate curriculum at K-State. Award selection is based on academic merit and financial need. The award for the 2024-2025 academic year is $4,000 to be distributed equally between Fall and Spring semesters.

Application procedure

The Associate Dean for graduate education of the college will submit to the Graduate School nomination materials through an online nomination form, and the following must be uploaded with the submission:

  • Nomination letter from the student’s major professor
  • An endorsement letter from another graduate faculty member
  • Nominee's curriculum vitae or resume

A maximum of 5 nominations may be submitted.

Nomination deadline: September 23, 2024.

Eligibility requirements

  • Nominee must be in good academic standing, minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Active graduate student making progress towards graduation
  • Must be enrolled in fall and spring semesters of the award academic year (must not graduate in the fall semester)

Award selection

Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of at least one representative from the Graduate Council Student Affairs Committee, a representative from the college submitting the nominations (to be appointed by the Graduate Dean), and a representative from the Graduate School (to be appointed by the Graduate Dean). The award will be distributed equally between fall and spring semesters of the academic year.
