Obtaining academic apparel

All degree candidates participating in commencement ceremonies will wear academic apparel. For information on tassel and hood colors click here.

Where to purchase

Any student located near Manhattan is encouraged to come to the K-State Union Bookstore to pay for and pick up their regalia. Any distance students can order their regalia online. There is a charge for shipping on the website. All items can be purchased separately as well. Renting regalia is not an option.

Deadlines

• Custom/fine PHD regalia or faculty custom regalia deadline: Tuesday, March 18, 2025 (link for ordering)
• Bachelor/Master students order deadlines:
  Deadline for pick-up, order online by Saturday, March 15, 2025 for pickup in campus store April 16-May 10 (no shipping fee) Deadline for ship-to home regalia orders, order online by April 10, 2025 and regalia will ship to your home address with $14.90 shipping fee to arrive by May 10. These orders ship in order received (allow 3-4 weeks for delivery after orders are placed)

Custom fine regalia orders for Faculty and Doctoral degree candidates take 8-10 weeks. Any orders after this date, if accepted, may incur additional late fees. This deadline is a hard deadline. It is needed to cover the lead time to build the faculty members specific hood, as these are made individually. Faculty members with degrees from K-State are excluded as hoods are carried in stock.

Students are advised to purchase their regalia as soon as it is financially possible for them to do so, as the K-State Union Bookstore may run out of product the week of graduation.
