Teachers and Employees Association (TEA)
The Teachers and Employees Association (TEA) of Kansas State University is a member organization that offers the opportunity to purchase voluntary insurance plans to its members and their dependents (spouse and children). This program is designed to provide a source of economic security for the member and family. TEA does require a one-time membership processing fee of $10. Please make your check or money order payable to "TEA of KSU" and return to TEA, 111 Dykstra Hall, 1628 Claflin Rd, Manhattan KS 66506.
Benefits-eligible employees may purchase from $10,000 to $500,000 in optional group life insurance coverage. Coverage of $150,000 is guaranteed, regardless of health, when the employee enrolls online within the first 30 days of employment. Premiums are paid through payroll deduction.
Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company (The Hartford) underwrites this voluntary program. The cost of these insurance programs are paid by the member through payroll deducted paid from the first paycheck each month. Retired members participating in TEA are billed annually.
You may enroll through The Hartford’s website. You’ll need to know your Employee ID and your birthdate. Please see the “How Do I Enroll” under the FAQ’s for more information. Contact Hartford at 844-289-2306.
