Audience: Department HR Liaisons

Session Description: An introduction to the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that will focus on how to sign-on/sign-off and navigate through the system pages. Participants will have access to a computer for completing activities during the session. HRIS access and access forms will be provided and explained in detail. This session is a prerequisite for all other HRIS courses.

Session Objectives: As a result of this session, participants will:

  • Access HRIS web-based software
  • Sign-on and Sign-off the HRIS
  • Access Home Page
  • Understand Portal Navigation (Menus, Folders, Transaction Pages)
  • Use Search
  • Know Password Management
  • View Pages and Tables in the HRIS
  • Understand Functions within a page
  • Use Hot Keys and Access Keys
  • Understand how effective dates are used in the HRIS
  • Access, view, and navigate through the HRIS pages
  • Perform common on-line inquiries
  • Add and update data on-line
  • Request Help Desk support
