Audience: Department HR Liaisons
Session Description: An introduction to the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that will focus on how to sign-on/sign-off and navigate through the system pages. Participants will have access to a computer for completing activities during the session. HRIS access and access forms will be provided and explained in detail. This session is a prerequisite for all other HRIS courses.
Session Objectives: As a result of this session, participants will:
- Access HRIS web-based software
- Sign-on and Sign-off the HRIS
- Access Home Page
- Understand Portal Navigation (Menus, Folders, Transaction Pages)
- Use Search
- Know Password Management
- View Pages and Tables in the HRIS
- Understand Functions within a page
- Use Hot Keys and Access Keys
- Understand how effective dates are used in the HRIS
- Access, view, and navigate through the HRIS pages
- Perform common on-line inquiries
- Add and update data on-line
- Request Help Desk support
