Session Description: Engaging in Difficult Conversations can be daunting. This interactive presentation is designed to increase your confidence and communications skills when confronted with a difficult conversation. This two-hour session will include information, discussions, role plays, and other interactive activities.
Session Objectives: By the end of the training, supervisors and managers will be able to:
- Identify their own discomfort with confrontation or conflict
- Identify derailing conversations and how to keep the conversation on track
- Identify three difficult conversations including: "What Happened" Conversations, "Feelings" Conversations, and "Identity" Conversations
- Role-play how to effectively apply the communication skills covered
- Role-play how to process reactions/issues that arise
