Session Description: Is gossip a problem in your work area? Do you always find yourself in a situation where gossip surrounds you and you don't know what to do about it? Gossip is a commonplace activity which can be negative and have long-lasting effects in the workplace. This session will allow you to understand your role in gossip situations and what you can do when you encounter gossip.

Session Objectives: As a result of this session, participants will:

  • Define gossip.
  • Identify reasons why gossip occurs.
  • Discuss the effects of gossip situations in the workplace.
  • Describe strategies that can be utilized to eliminate gossip from the workplace.
