Test Results Guide

Key:
Test ID - Test type taken.
Test Component - Subsections of the test taken.
Test Score - Numeric value represents score of test component taken.
Letter Score - Numeric or alpha value represents score of test component taken, when applicable.
Percentile - Numeric value represents national comparison of the score on a test component taken, when applicable.
Test Date -The date the test taken was administered.
Acad Level - The academic level of the student at the time the test taken was administered.
Data Source - The source from which the test taken was reported.
Date Loaded - The date the test taken was entered into KSIS.
In-depth explanation of test types
ACT
The ACT (American College Testing) college readiness assessment is a standardized test for high school achievement, college admissions and scholarship awards. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID ACT are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency per a request by the test taker. These test scores contain additional information for advising and meet the requirement for a completed application record required by the Kansas Board of Regents.
ACTSR
ACT test scores self-reported by the applicant are reflected with the test ID ACTSR. These scores are utilized to make preliminary admission decisions and scholarship awards. All applicants that intend to enroll at K-State must provide official test scores from the testing agency to verify their self-reported information and complete their application record.
ACTUN
ACT test scores reported on a high school transcript are reflected with the test ID ACTUN. These scores are utilized to make preliminary admission decisions and scholarship awards. All applicants that intend to enroll must provide official test scores from the testing agency to complete their application record.
AP
Advanced Placement is a program created by the College Board that offers college-level examinations to high school students. Colleges and universities may grant course credit based on the student scores. Please see the K-State Credit for Prior Learning online tool to determine what credit is awarded.
BA
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is offered in participating high schools, and the examinations are administered at the high schools. Colleges and universities may grant course credit based on the student scores. Please see the K-State Credit for Prior Learning online tool to determine what credit is awarded.
CL
The College Level Examination Program is a group of standardized tests created and administered by College Board. These tests assess college-level knowledge in 36 subject areas. Colleges and universities may grant course credit based on the student scores. Please see the K-State Credit for Prior Learning online tool to determine what credit is awarded.
DA
DSST are credit by examination tests originated by the US Department of Defense. The program is an extensive serious of 30+ examinations in college subject areas. Colleges and universities may grant course credit based on the student scores. Please see the K-State Credit for Prior Learning online tool to determine what credit is awarded.
EPT
New students who have not already demonstrated English proficiency through an accepted standardized language test (for example: iBT, IELTS, etc.) will take the K-State English Proficiency Test (EPT) upon arrival. Depending upon scores and their admission status, students are placed in full-time intensive English classes, part-time English and academic classes, or full-time academic classes.
GED
The General Educational Development exam is a group of four subject tests that provide information to determine if the test taker meets score requirements to meet high school completion equivalency. These scores are utilized by K-State to determine admissibility per requirements set by the Kansas Board of Regents. Test ID GED represents tests taken from 2002 to 2013.
GED14
The General Educational Development exam is a group of four subject tests that provide information to determine if the test taker meets score requirements to meet high school completion equivalency. These scores are utilized by K-State to determine admissibility per requirements set by the Kansas Board of Regents. Test ID GED14 represents tests taken in 2014 and later.
GEDO
The General Educational Development exam is a group of four subject tests that provide information to determine if the test taker meets score requirements to meet high school completion equivalency. These scores are utilized by K-State to determine admissibility per requirements set by the Kansas Board of Regents. Test ID GEDO represents tests taken before 2002.
GMAT
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computer adaptive test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to graduate management programs, such as an MBA.
GRE
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that can be an admission requirement for Graduate Schools in the United States. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID GRE are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency.
HISET
An alternate high school equivalency exam that several US states have started utilizing in place of the GED. These scores are utilized by K-State to determine admissibility per requirements set by the Kansas Board of Regents.
IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID IELTS are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency. IELTS test scores are utilized by K-State to determine if the applicant meets proficiency standards to take full-time academic classes.
MATHPL
The Math Department at K-State have developed a Math Placement test developed to assess a test takers ability to be successful in varying levels of math classes at K-State. This online test is a requirement for new incoming students to complete prior to their initial advising appointment. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID MATHPL have completed this assessment test at K-State.
PTE
The Pearson Test of English is an exam used to asses and validate the English language usage of non-native English speakers. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID PTE are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency. PTE test scores may be utilized by K-State to determine if the applicant meets proficiency standards to take full-time academic classes.
SAT
The SAT test is a standardized test for high school achievement, college admissions and scholarship awards. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID SAT are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency per a request by the test taker. These test scores meet the requirement for a completed application record required by the Kansas Board of Regents.
SAT II
SAT Subject Tests are given by the College Board on individual subjects. These are usually taken to improve a student's credentials for admission to colleges or universities. K-State does not utilize SAT subject tests for determining admissibility.
SAT UN
SAT test scores reported on a high school transcript are reflected with the test ID SATUN. These scores are utilized to make preliminary admission decisions and scholarship awards. All applicants that intend to enroll must provide official test scores from the testing agency to complete their application record.
SATSR
SAT test scores self-reported by the applicant are reflected with the test ID SATSR. These scores are utilized to make preliminary admission decisions and scholarship awards. SPEAK
The Speaking Proficiency English Assessment Kit (SPEAK) is an oral test developed to evaluate the examinee’s proficiency in spoken English. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID SPEAK are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency. SPEAK test scores may be utilized by K-State to determine if the applicant meets proficiency standards to take full-time academic classes.
TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. Test scores shown in KSIS with test ID TOEFL are considered official because they were received directly from the testing agency. TOEFL test scores are utilized by K-State to determine if the applicant meets proficiency standards to take full-time academic classes.
