K-State hosted Nebraska in a Friday night game at Memorial Stadium in front of a good crowd. K-State struck early with a try by Kenny Scott. Joe D'Agostino missed the conversion from the sidelines so K-State led 5-0. Nebraska returned the favor shortly after, scoring a try near the middle following a missed tackle. They made the conversion and took the lead 7-5. K-State's next try was scored by wing Mike Polzin in the left corner. D'Agostino made this conversion and K-State went up 12-7. D'Agostino's kicking was perfect for the rest of the game, making all of his conversions and hitting 2 penalty goals. Nebraska was not going away however, and scored another try on a chip and chase by their captain. The conversion was missed, and the game was tied at ten. K-State's next try was scored with about 10 minutes left in the half. D'Agostino set up Jake Dull who hit a hole at pace to break through the Nebraska defense. He made the fullback miss, and dotted down in the center. K-State took a 19-12 lead into halftime. In the second half, Nebraska struck first, scoring to make the score 19-17. Scott added his second try after a great run to about 1 meter out by Cool Mike Polzin. Nebraska was able to score the next try when flanker Evan Talbott was yellow carded for failure to wrap up in a tackle. Referee Pete Winklebauer awarded Nebraska a penalty try on the play which was made 5 meters out. KSU looked like they might pull away when Scott scored his third try of the match, and D'Agostino hit a penalty goal to make the score 36-24. Nebraska didn't quit and they scored again to pull within a try at 36-31. With 10 minutes left, following a scuffle, KSU scrumhalf John Knutsen was red carded, and Nebraska's outside center was given a yellow. Talbott came out of the sin bin at this point and both teams played with 14 men for the remainder of the match. D'Agostino hit another penalty goal to give K-State an 8 point cushion. No. 8 Tyler Hodges followed up with a try after a great team effort for a 46-31 lead with only a few minutes to play. Nebraska scored one more time near the end, and the game finished with the score 46-36.KSU also won the B / Clubside match by two tries.
