Save the date: 2018 New Student Convocation
Revived in 2013, the New Student Convocation tradition will continue at 5:45-6:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, in Bramlage Coliseum. Designed principally for K-State's newest undergraduate students, all are welcome.
This year's program will include the first-ever charge delivered by a current undergraduate student: Darrell Reese Jr., president of the Black Student Union. Reese will be joined by Mortar Board's Eddie Genovese, First Scholar Selena Hernandez and University Honors Program student Clara Wicoff, as well as by 2018 Alumni Association Distinguished Young Alumni Megan McCall and Bryce Huschka — the former in person and the latter, we expect, beaming in from somewhere in the South Pacific. Greg Eiselein, K-State First director, and the president and provost, also will address the audience. We thank the Faculty Brass Quintet and other members of the School of Music, Theater, and Dance for their essential contributions to every convocation.
Please mark your calendars. Though there's usually no homework involved, the New Student Convocation inaugurates the 2018-2019 academic year.
