Opportunity for international collaboration in Brazil: The Capes PRInT Program

Submitted by Marcellus Caldas, assistant provost for international collaboration and educational programs

The Office of International Programs invites K-State faculty to collaborate with the State University of São Paulo, or UNESP, in the Capes Program for Institutional Internationalization of the Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutions of Brazil, or PRInT Program.

K-State faculty with interest in plural society, sustainable development, bioeconomy, health and well-being, materials and technology, biodiversity and climate change, and basic science in the frontier of knowledge are encouraged to participate in a Q&A meeting at noon Monday, Feb. 11, in Room 206 of the K-State Student Union.

Many K-State departments have had long-standing collaborative partnerships with UNESP.

The priority focus of the program is to establish and increase the mobility of doctoral students and faculty by UNESP to foster the establishment of international research networks; to promote the international mobility of Brazilian professors, researchers and postgraduate students; and to increase attraction of highly qualified foreign professors, researchers and students to UNESP.

UNESP has been selected for the Capes PRInT program, a new funding program sponsored by the Brazilian government agency CAPES for the internationalization of Graduate Programs and Research in Brazil.

Marcellus Caldas, Carol Shanklin, Brett de Paola and Stacy Hutchison will provide additional information. Please, consider joining us to learn more about UNESP and this PRInT program.
