Program director of medical lab science to speak at K-State

Eric Elsinghorst, director of the medical lab science program at the University of Kansas, will present about the program at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in 301 Calvin Hall.
You don't have to be a physician or nurse to work in a hospital. As "illness investigators," medical laboratory scientists use sophisticated instruments to analyze blood and other body tissue and fluids. They provide the essential information used to make diagnoses and plan treatments. From anthrax incidents to outbreaks of SARS and avian flu, these professionals are involved in investigating events that make headlines all over the world. Starting salary for this line of work is $50,000 and most students are employed before graduating.
