Adam Carr joins Department of Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs

Submitted by Mirta Chavez

Adam Carr will serve as the Program / Project Administrator.

The Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs Office announces that Adam Carr will be joining the department to serve as the program/project administrator for multicultural programs.

As program/project administrator, Carr will implement various diversity programs that include Project IMPACT, peer mentoring, leadership programs, College for a Day experiences and more. These programs are specifically designed to identify, cultivate, recruit, retain and graduate multicultural and first-generation students. He will also provide administrative support to the Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs Office and maintain the student databases and generate required statistics and reports.

Carr will report to Mirta Chavez, senior director of multicultural programs and services for the Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs Office.

Carr previously served as the graduate and undergraduate assistant for the K-State LGBT Resource Center under Brandon Haddock and worked for Hale Library at the Library User Services Help Desk. Carr received his bachelor's degree in human resource management from the K-State College of Business Administration in 2019 and will be completing his Master of Business Administration this May, also from K-State.

"I'm excited to continue my time here at Kansas State," Carr said. "This campus has truly become a home to me and I look forward to making that experience true for all students, especially those facing the additional barriers that come with being part of marginalized identities. As some who identities as LGBT, I understand and empathize with those struggles, but I hope to use my experiences and background to help any way I can."
