Division of Biology hosting annual BioBonanza event tonight
Join the Division of Biology for its annual BioBonanza event from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union. The event is free and open to everyone.
For any undergraduate student interested in biology and biology-related extracurricular activities, the event will include two-minute "lightning talks" from faculty about their research, followed by browsing sessions for you to connect with current students in biology, microbiology, and fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology.

6:30-7 p.m. Research lightning talks from Division of Biology faculty
- Michi Tobler — adaptation and speciation; fish biology.
- Sherry Flemming — immunology.
- Ruth Welti — structure and function of cell membranes; lipids.
- Alice Boyle — behavioral, evolutionary and physiological ecology; ornithology.
- Ashley Joseph from Steph Shames' lab — host-pathogen interactions; bacterial pathogenesis.
- Brad Olson — molecular and ecological basis of multicellular evolution.
- Jack Sytsma and Eli Hartung from Loretta Johnson's lab — ecological genomics; plant ecology; climate change.
