Dead week and finals week at Hale Library
During dead week and finals week, Hale Library will have extended hours for study. The building will be open until 2 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday both weeks. Designated quiet study spaces in the building include the entire fourth floor and the Great Room on the third floor.
Several events will take place throughout both weeks. On Dec. 7, 8, 9, 13 and 14, the Libraries will host Random Acts of Snacks to provide treats and sympathy to students studying throughout Hale Library. There will also be jigsaw puzzles spread throughout the building, and a Relaxation Station on the second floor will include de-stressing activities.
Students can also escape from finals in the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab, which will offer activities such as making your own stress balls, puzzles and play dough. Students can also fill out a postcard for family or friends and the Libraries will mail it for you!
Caffeine Fix: At 7 p.m. on Dec. 8, 9, 12, 13 and 14, students can enjoy free coffee, tea, hot cocoa, cider, fruit and snacks while supplies last on the first floor of Hale Library.
Finals Week Photo Booth: Remember your finals week in Hale Library by participating in a photo booth on the second floor of the Innovation Lab. The times are as follows:
- Dec. 7, 2-4 p.m.
- Dec. 9, 9:30-11 a.m.
- Dec. 14, 3-4:30 p.m.
Shake Away Your Stress for Faculty and Staff: From 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 7 and 14 on the second floor of the Innovation Lab, faculty and staff will have the chance to create their own 3D-printed maracas. Grab a shell, chock it full of fillings and shake away the stress!
Our lead sponsor for these activities is Joyce and Joe’s Cornerstone Café. Other sponsors include the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, personal financial planning department, Goblin Games, Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, K-State Athletics and Varsity Donuts.
