Updates to PPM 7860, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Policy
The university has recently updated its Unmanned Aircraft Systems Policy, PPM 7860, to reflect federal aviation regulatory changes per FAA docket numbers FAA-2019-1000 and FAA-2019-0364.
Changes include updates to pilot certification requirements for commercial and recreational use of unmanned aircraft systems, remote ID requirements, and operations over people requirements. In almost all cases, updates allow easier access for K-State faculty, staff and students to conduct routine UAS operations.
