Event for high school sophomores, juniors will showcase undergraduate research opportunities
High school sophomores and juniors will have an opportunity to learn about undergraduate research and leadership opportunities at K-State this February.
Explore! is an interactive event designed to introduce high school sophomores and juniors to the exciting research, leadership and creative opportunities at Kansas State University.
The program will take place on K-State's Manhattan campus from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24. There is an optional campus tour at 8 a.m. In addition to learning more about opportunities for undergraduates, students will visit Hale Library, the Chapman Center for Rural Studies, the Johnson Cancer Research Center and the K-State Student Union.
The Explore! motto is "college is more than classes." During this daylong experience, students will learn about research and extracurricular opportunities at K-State, explore medical curiosities from the vaults of veterinary medicine to learn about primary texts, learn how K-State students advance cancer research and get creative in K-State Libraries' Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab. The event emphasizes that regardless of a student’s professional goals, K-State provides students with opportunities and connections to launch their careers.
The free program is sponsored by the Chapman Center for Rural Studies, the Johnson Cancer Research Center, K-State Libraries, the Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry, the primary texts certificate program, TRIO and the University Honors Program.
