Legislature returns for week eight, following Turnaround Day
The Senate Ways and Means Higher Education Committee reviewed and made recommendations on postsecondary education and the institutions on Feb. 20.
The Legislature adjourned on Feb. 23 following Turnaround Day and will return on Wednesday, March 1. Turnaround Day is defined as the day all House of Representatives bills move to the Senate and all Senate bills move to the House of Representatives. Feb. 24 is day 47 of the 90-day 2023 Kansas Legislature.
In the short week beginning on March 1, higher education recommendations will be presented to Senate Ways and Means Committee for consideration at 10:30 a.m. Thursday March 2.
Also this week, the House Commerce, Labor and Economic Development Committee will hear House Bill 2414 to expand the University Engineering Act to members of the Kansas Association of Independent Colleges whose members offer engineering degrees.
