Help keep K-State cool during record-breaking hot temperatures

Submitted by Lori Hayden

As temperatures climb to record levels this week, the Division of Facilities asks for your assistance in keeping the buildings as cool as possible. Building users can help achieve this by keeping the following in mind:

  • Please keep windows and doors closed to keep as much cool air as possible in the building/room.
  • In rooms that have window shades, please keep them closed to avoid bringing in unnecessary heat.
  • The cooling systems will be in high demand. If possible, please keep temperature set-points at the upper end of the comfort cooling range, mid to upper 70s.
  • Please turn off all unnecessary equipment in rooms to maintain a minimal heat load to the building/room.

To submit a work request, please use the online link or call 785-532-6389.

Thank you for your support.
