College of Agriculture to host interactive teaching workshop Oct. 16
The College of Agriculture academic programs office will host its annual teaching workshop at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the Stanley Stout Center. Faculty and graduate students in the college are invited to develop their teaching and student engagement through a series of facilitated presentations.
Topics of this workshop include creating community in the classroom, student engagement and empathy with boundaries, and course improvements focused on student success. Presenters will include Lonnie Hobbs Jr., assistant professor of agricultural economics; Melissa Glaser, engagement coordinator with the Office of Recruitment and Admissions; and Don Saucier, professor of psychological sciences and university distinguished teaching scholar.
Workshop attendees will reflect and apply concepts from the presentations to their current teaching programs. Individuals should RSVP. The College of Agriculture Faculty Awards Reception will start at 5:30 p.m. immediately following the workshop.
