Faber to present 'Equity in Assessment: (Re)evaluating How we Evaluate Students'

Submitted by Ashley A. Schiffer

Andie Faber, assistant professor of modern languages, will present "Equity in Assessment: (Re)evaluating How we Evaluate Students" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 25, via Zoom. The presentation is part of the Teaching and Learning Center's professional development series.

How can assessment practices support social justice, inclusivity and learner autonomy? This session will explore strategies to honor students' identities, align our assessment practices with our values, promote critical thinking, and increase learner motivation through the use of pointless — or, if you will, point-less — rubrics and other ungrading strategies.
