Call for university partners to co-sponsor annual First-generation Student Graduation Celebration
The First-generation Student Center will host the seventh First-generation Student Graduation Celebration on Friday, May 10.
Through strong partnerships and collaborations across campus, we have celebrated graduating first-generation students and their families during the past six years. Students will receive a green cord to wear to commencement ceremonies that symbolizes first-generation students' resilience.
Consider serving on the planning committee to coordinate and implement this event. The committee will meet several times during the spring 2024 semester starting in late February and leading up to the event. Partners are asked to consider making financial and/or in-kind contributions toward the event. Contributing partners will be acknowledged at the graduation reception.
