Unleash your discoveries at the Kansas Science Festival

Submitted by Theresa Quintana

Kate KuKanich with the KSU CVM's This is How We “ROLE” program presenting at the 2023 Kansas Science Festival

The Kansas Science Festival is on a mission to co-create science, technology, engineering, art and math, or STEAM, experiences that spark excitement and curiosity in learners of all ages.

The third annual Kansas Science Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in downtown Manhattan. The event provides researchers and community STEAM practitioners from all backgrounds and career stages an opportunity to share their work with the broader public.

Members of the K-State community are invited to participate and present their work in the form of a hands-on, family friendly activity. The goal is to provide the broader community with a glimpse of all the exciting ways STEAM intersects with our daily lives, to spark curiosity and excitement in learners of all ages, and frankly, to have fun.

The inaugural Kansas Science Festival featured more than 50 presenters and was attended by more than 2,000 community members. We welcome the participation of STEAM students and professionals regardless of specialization or career stage. Whether you are a faculty member that has developed some outreach activities for their broader impacts, a graduate student with an exciting research project, or an undergraduate student organization with a passion for STEAM, please sign up to participate and register for a booth by March 10 using the Kansas Science Festival website. Participation is free for all presenters.

The K-State community can also help the Kansas Science Festival as a volunteer prior to, during or after the event. Sign up through the website.

If you have any questions, please contact the steering committee at kansassciencefestival@gmail.com.
