Submitted by Stephanie Rose

Join KAWSE, the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, for the Leading the Way: Women in STEM panel discussion from 10-11 a.m. March 26 in Room 307 of Hale Library.

The goal is to empower women to take on more significant leadership roles throughout their academic careers and beyond. We aim to provide valuable perspectives on leadership, career growth and the importance of diversity in STEM leadership.

RSVP by March 19 to attend the discussion.

The panel will consist of moderated discussions and will allow participants to ask questions and engage in dialogue with the panelists:

  • Chibuzor Azubuike is an author, social entrepreneur, scholar-practitioner and the founder of Haske Water Aid and Empowerment Foundation, which aims to provide portable water and youth/women empowerment to rural communities through capacity building.
  • Katie Kingery-Page is a licensed landscape architect and the associate dean in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design at K-State. She leads the Office of Student Academic Services and serves APDesign as associate dean for research.
  • Caterina Scoglio is a distinguished professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering and director of the Network Science and Engineering Group at K-State. Scoglio has acted as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on more than 30 projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation; the National Academies — Keck Futures Initiative; the State of Kansas; and the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Energy, and Defense.

The event is open to all students, faculty and staff. Questions can be sent to kawse@k-state.edu
