  • Spring 2026 deadline for all applicants is Aug. 1.

Applying for Funding

Decisions about acceptance to the program are separate from funding decisions; you may be accepted to the program with or without funding. We do not offer fully funded scholarships. Students are encouraged to apply for federal financial aid, scholarships and fellowships to support their degree progress and academic goals. Visit the Graduate School website for more financial information.

Students intending to complete the program full-time and in-person can apply for competitive graduate assistantships (GTA, GRA, or GA) by completing a supplemental assistantship inquiry form.

Assistantship contracts are offered to accepted students by individual departments, based on availability, resources, needs, and activities. Assistantship contracts may vary in time and funding amount: For more information about the expectations of assistantships, vist the Graduate School website.

The number of assistantships available each year vary. Candidates for assistantships may be asked for additional information and/or to engage in an interview with a supervising faculty member. Most graduate assistantships begin in the fall semester (August), and commitments are requested by April 15, of the prior academic year.
