Nationally Competitive Scholarships
A key component of SDUR's scholar development efforts are Nationally Competitive Scholarships. We advise students interested in nationally and internationally competitive scholarships.
K-State has a proud tradition of our students competing for national scholarships; and in fact, these students, supported by the faculty and staff who mentor them, have achieved notable success. Read about our recent scholars to learn more about that record of success.
You should consult with your department and/or Student Financial Assistance if you seek money awarded by K-State.
About Us
This office advises K-State students as they seek to identify and compete for major scholarships, fellowships and other academic prizes, including those that require candidates to be nominated by the University before they can compete nationally. What we do breaks down into four core areas:
- We publicize upcoming competitions and help students discover whether any of the major scholarship programs might be a good fit for their goals and interests.
- We advise students regarding how to build a competitive resume and academic record, one that will serve their longer term goals, whether they are successful in the scholarship arena or not.
- We run the campus process for most of the awards that require campus nomination or institutional endorsement.
- We serve as a resource during the application process. This includes clarifying rules and procedures, providing advice regarding personal statements and resumes, organizing mock interviews, etc.
Many K-State students have been successful at the national level, and win or lose, most students share that they benefit from the application process.
