Blake Moris December 15: Blake Moris, civil engineering graduate, has been selected by the Federal Highway Administration to receive a Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship for 2018. The program provides fellowships and funding to students pursuing master's or doctoral degrees in transportation-related disciplines.

Vanessa Alexandra McCauley December 8: Kansas State University student receives Gilman International Scholarship. Vanessa Alexandra McCauley, junior in hospitality management, has received a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study in Switzerland for the spring 2018 semester. Following her study opportunity, Vanessa will participate in a six-month apprenticeship in Europe.

Garrett Wilkinson December 4: Kansas State University student receives national Marshall Scholarship. Garrett Wilkinson, senior in nutritional sciences and pre-medicine, has received a Marshall Scholarship for graduate study in the United Kingdom. Marshall scholarships are awarded to about 40 American students each year by the British government as an expression of gratitude and as a means of continually strengthening the ties between the U.K. and U.S.

Madison Beauchamp McKenna Parker October 18: Prestigious Gilman scholarships help two students with international education plans. Two Kansas State University students have received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad. Madison Beauchamp, senior in animal sciences and industry, will study at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. McKenna Parker, senior in chemical sciences and nutritional sciences, will study at Christ University in Bangalore, India.

Sierra Lekie June 29: Kansas State University's Phi Kappa Phi Fellow to study foreign affairs in nation's capital. Sierra Lekie, senior in Political Science and Economics, has been awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship to study at American University's School of International Service in Washington, D.C.

Caitlyn Webb June 23: Manhattan student awarded prestigious Rotary Foundation Global Grant Scholarship. Caitlyn Webb is the latest K-State recipient of a Rotary Global Grant. She will use the funding to attend graduate school at the London School of Economics.

Virginia Davis Taryn Huckabay Ann-Marie Kennedy Loan Tang Brooke Wetta May 19: Students receive Gilman scholarships to study around the world. Five K-Staters have been selected as Gilman Scholars for Summer 2017. Virginia Davis, senior in apparel and textiles, will study in Italy; Taryn Huckabay, senior in animal sciences and industry, will study in the Turks and Caicos Islands; Ann-Marie Kennedy, senior in social work, will intern Thailand; and Loan Tang, sophomore in biology, will intern in Vietnam; and Brooke Wetta, sophomore in chemistry, will study in India.

Chad Olney May 16: Department of Defense names civil engineering senior a SMART scholar. Chad Olney, senior in Civil Engineering, has been awarded a SMART (Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation) Scholar for the 2017-18 year.

Nathan McClain May 12: Kansas State University student from Overland Park a 2017 Cargill Global Scholar. Nathan McClain, sophomore in Computer Science and Physics has been selected as the newest Cargill Global Scholar from K-State, one of only ten selected from across the U.S.

Sierra Lekie May 10: Kansas State University student receives Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship. Congratulations to Sierra Lekie, senior in Political Science and Economics, for her selection as a 2017 Pickering Fellow, one of twenty nationally.

nd May 5: Fulbright experience: Student from Liberal to spend part of summer digging into England's history. Nathan Dowell, sophomore in history, was accepted to a Fulbright Summer Institute at Durham University.

Amber Berg jael whitney May 4: Udall Foundation recognizes two Kansas State University students. Two students were recognized by the Udall Foundation. Amber Berg, sophomore in regional and community planning, was awarded the Udall Undergraduate Scholarship and Jael Whitney, junior in marketing, received an honorable mention.

phillip April 20: Kansas State University student to research plants producing new antibiotics in Germany. Gabrielle Phillips, sophomore in mechanical engineering, received a research internship position through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

April 14: Kansas State University students, alumni among newest NSF Graduate Research Fellows. Five Kansas State University students were recognized in the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowships competition. Victoria Fitzgerald, master's student in geology, Dianne Collard, senior in chemical engineering, Jordann Brandner, doctoral student in psychology, and Robert "Kent" Connell, doctoral student in biology were all receipents of the scholarship and Samantha Sharpe, doctoral student in biology, received an honorable mention.

velazhahan bassette apley gomendoza April 6: Goldwater Foundation recognizes four Kansas State University students, undergraduate researchers. Vaithish Velazhahan, junior in microbiology, has been named a Goldwater Scholar. Molly Bassette, junior in biology and chemistry, Kyle Apley, junior in chemistry, and Kathlyn Tan Gomendoza, junior in biology, have all been awarded honorable mentions in the competition.

bandara April 5: Kansas State University doctoral student among 2017 Phi Kappa Phi Dissertation Fellows. A doctoral student in plant pathology, Ananda Bandara, received a Phi Kappa Phi Dissertation Fellowship. He is one of 10 students selected nationwide.

gilman Gilman gilman January 3: Three Kansas State University students receive prestigious Gilman scholarships to study abroad. Three students received Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships. Junior Thomas Anjard, senior Kevin Hernandez, and senior Joel Fry will be studying in Czech Republic, Japan, and Ghana respectively.
