Mobile Food Distribution

Volunteers passing out food at Mobile Food Distribution.The upcoming Mobile Food Distributions will take place on Friday, March 28, and Friday, April 11. Volunteers will need to arrive to parking lot C1 (behind the KSU rec center) at 3:30 p.m. and the event will be done by 5:30 p.m.

Day of Service with the Lintons

Shake off that cabin fever and enjoy a beautiful spring day on the Manhattan campus! K-State friends and family are invited to participate in the third annual K-State Day of Service, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29.

Volunteers will work alongside K-State staff on exterior projects such as mulching and painting, contributing to the campus beautification efforts in preparation for K-State's All-University Open House on Saturday, April 12.

To volunteer, please complete the registration form. You can choose your preferred time and the projects you wish to assist with. After registering, you will receive additional details about the event, and every effort will be made to match tasks to your interests. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers at the President's Residence.

Upcoming Service Summit

On Saturday, March 29th, the Staley School of Leadership and HandsOn will be hosting our first Service Summit, an event designed to empower student leaders to design and lead ethical, effective, and sustainable service initiatives by providing tools, best practices, and a platform for collaboration to ensure service efforts create meaningful, long-term impact. Stoneybrook Health and Rehab

Stoneybrook Senior Living is a family owned and operated retirement community in Manhattan, Kansas. They are looking for student volunteers to help with special events and those who are willing to go in and chat with the residents.

Some activities that need volunteers include bingo, nail salon, tea parties, and our artful making class.

PeaceFull PantryPeacefull Pantry Logo

PeaceFull Pantry is looking for volunteers to help stock food pantry shelves on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-10 a.m. This could be a one time or recurring opportunity.

Or, you could help shoppers navigate the pantry at the following times:

  • 1:45-4:15 p.m. Sunday
  • 4:45-7:15 p.m Monday
  • 1:45-7:15 p.m. Tuesday
  • 4:45-7:15 p.m. Thursday

K-State Merit Badge Conference

The 29th annual K-State Merit Badge Conference to be held Saturday April 26, on campus. This annual event brings about 1000 youth and adults to campus and is a wonderful way to showcase the university to potential students. There are typically about 700 male and female youth included in that 1000 participant count with the rest being adult leaders.

They are looking for student volunteers to help lead small groups of scouts and adults from the student union ballroom to the rooms on campus where their merit badges are being taught. Volunteers will work from 8:-9 a.m. or 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Konza Student TableKonza Student Table Logo

To help fight food insecurity among K-State students, multiple community organizations have joined together to sponsor The Konza Student Table. This program provides a free, tasty and nutritious meal every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The program began September 2020 in the midst of COVID and is still going strong.

They need volunteers to make this happen, have a variety of positions, and would love your help. You can sign up as an individual or help out as a group.

Manhattan Arts Center

The Manhattan Arts Center is looking for new volunteers to get involved at their shows and around the theatre!

Ways to be involved:

  • Volunteer as an usher, doing box office sales, or be a house manager for performances.
  • Help with a theatre production making costumes, building sets, painting, running lights (we train you), stage managing, or - of course - acting.
  • Gallery exhibit set-up, hosting the exhibit, and tear-down.
  • Help with building maintenance, and cosmetic enhancements inside and out.

Mobile Food Distribution

On Feb. 14, HandsOn hosted 32 volunteers at our Mobile Food Distribution. With the help of our volunteers and the food from Harvesters Community Food Network, we were able to distribute food to 230 households!
