Snyder Fellows Newsletter: Spring 2024
The Snyder Fellows kicked off the 2023-2024 academic year with a transformative two-day retreat that not only fostered fellowship among the Fellows, but also enriched their leadership journey through insightful workshops and meaningful discussions.
During the first night, Coach Bill Snyder emphasized the significance of teamwork and shared his leadership philosophy. The Fellows engaged in locker room chats, sharing their personal journeys and experiences.
On day 2, the morning started with an energizing workout led by former K-State football player Dillon Wilson. Following the workout, Dillon delivered an inspiring session on finding purpose. Tamara Bauer, an instructor at the Staley School, conducted afternoon sessions focused on goal setting.
“The Snyder Fellows Retreat in September was life changing for me! I really enjoyed all the different activities that we did. I got to know every Fellow and grew closer with those that I already knew. I also thought Dillon's talk was eye opening and inspirational. I have found myself referring back to the notes that I took while he was speaking and then I get inspired all over again. I am so grateful to be a part of Snyder Fellows and I can't wait to see what all is in store for the spring semester.” – Jakobi Hackett (2023-2024 Fellow)
More Highlights
In October, Fellows had a chance to engage with and learn from two long time supporters of the program and former K-State football players: Frank Hernandez and Jaime Mendez.
Additionally, the Fellows were honored and acknowledged on the field during the K-State football vs. Baylor game, marking a memorable highlight of the semester.
Wrapping up the term, Tamara Bauer hosted a gathering at her home. It was an enjoyable opportunity for the group to reconnect, unwind with a game of white elephant, and share stories after a busy semester.
