That was the goal of KSAC when it launched its first broadcast on December 1, 1924, and became the first educational broadcasting station in Kansas and a pioneer radio voice in the United States.

Lasting legacy

The broadcasting legacy left by KSAC/KKSU still exists at K-State, in the form of the K-State Radio Network, operated by K-State Research and Extension, which produces syndicated programs and daily podcasts, and KSDB, the student radio station housed in the School of Media and Communication.
