Fourth annual Social Media Week at Kansas State University features events addressing agriculture misinformation, sharing innovative teaching tips using social media, showcasing the work of industry experts, and more

The A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication and the Kansas State University Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs will host the fourth annual K-State Social Media Week April 7 – 11 with a series of virtual and in-person events and discussions designed to inspire, educate and empower students to harness the full potential of social media in their personal and professional lives. This year's event unites industry leaders and academic experts to explore social media career development, emerging tools and perspectives, collaborative efforts for information accuracy, and the risks and benefits of social media regulation. Highlights of K-State Social Media Week 2025 include:
- Behind-the-scenes look at the viral social media sensation that was the Pop-Tarts Bowl, featuring two of the event’s creators from Weber Shandwick.
- Expert panel examining the impact of social media misinformation about farming practices and food production.
- Expert panel exploring pressing issues surrounding social media, the law and First Amendment rights.
- Discussion about the evolving role of digital and social media platforms in education and how educators can integrate strategies, platforms and best practices to enhance learning.
- Hands-on workshop for students and faculty designed to help create a standout LinkedIn profile, showcase skills and grow professional connections.
