Education Abroad opportunity: KSU in Prague
Jan. 26, 2023
Kansas State University students can cruise along the Vltava River, enjoy delicious Czech cuisine and take classes at the magical Charles University through KSU in Prague, a study abroad program taking place this summer from June 15 - July 7.
The program welcomes all majors and will earn students 3-6 credits toward their major, minor, or other degree requirements.
Following orientation, students will attend classes Monday through Thursday for three weeks. Dr. Brent Maner will teach History and Identity in the Museum, and Dr. Colene Lind will teach Communication and Leadership: The Public Leadership of Vaclav Havel.
“Education Abroad is a life-changing experience and of practical value at a time when cross-cultural communication is vital for many careers, especially business,” Lind said. “KSU in Prague is a unique opportunity for K-Staters to experience Czech culture while earning credit toward their degrees. I’m looking forward to it.”
Students will study and live with other K-State students near Prague castle and take classes in the heart of Prague’s Old Town. The program also offers day trips to Terezin, the site of a World War II concentration camp, and Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO world heritage site known for its preserved architecture and meandering lanes, as well as two free weekends to explore the region on their own.
To apply, visit the KSU Education Abroad website and request an appointment with an education abroad advisor. Priority application deadline is Feb. 15. Pre-departure meetings will be held on K-State’s Manhattan campus in early May.
