Biographical Information

Dominique graduated with a B.S. in Communication Studies from Hastings College. She is currently a graduate student in the M.A. Communication Studies program at Kansas State University. Dominique is a Graduate Teaching Assistant for K-State’s public speaking courses as well as a Graduate Coaching Assistant for the K-State Forensics team.


Research

Dominique’s research is primarily focused on gendered sports communication. Dominique presented her undergraduate research on coach and athlete communication of body image at the 2022 National Communication Conference. Dominique assisted Dr. Kittie Grace (Hastings College) and Dr. Wendy Anderson (University of Minnesota) with research on improving diversity, equity, and inclusion on college campuses.


Career

Dominique enjoys instructing the public speaking courses at K-State and strives for a creative and productive space for students to learn. Her passion for public speaking can also be seen through her work coaching for the forensics team. Upon completion of her master’s degree, Dominique plans on working in Public Relations and continuing to coach for forensics.
