Biographical Information
Landyn is currently a master’s student and Graduate Teaching Assistant studying Mass Communications at Kansas State University’s A.Q. Miller School of Media and Communication. He received his undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Strategic Communications from the University of Kansas School of Business and William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications in May 2023.
Along with teaching and being active in his program, he has experience as a Sports Director (2 years at KJHK 90.7 FM, currently at Wildcat 91.9 FM), KU Student Ambassador, and coxswain for Kansas Crew Club. He has also completed marketing internships that have included working with ad copy, SEO, content writing, and social media marketing.
Growing up as the son of a business owner and veteran, he has been surrounded by leadership that has taught him the value of the intense work it takes to deliver a product and the importance of productivity.
Research
Landyn’s research interests include topics that revolve around marketing, sports communication, and digital music advertising.
Landyn’s research has covered topics such as the uses and gratifications pertaining to online audiences and their interactions with NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) on the social media platform, TikTok. He is currently researching fan perceptions of professional and collegiate sports teams in connection to media coverage.
