[an error occurred while processing this directive]K-STATE'S ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, FOUNDATION WIN 11 AWARDS AT 2010 CASE CONFERENCE
Advancement professionals at K-State earned 11 awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education at the District 6 meeting Jan. 10-12 in St. Louis, Mo.
The K-State Alumni Association received eight individual awards -- two gold, four silver and two bronze -- with the Kansas State University Foundation earning two gold awards and a bronze.
The K-State Alumni Association earned the following awards: a gold in the alumni special events category for the Wabash CannonBall gala in Kansas City; gold for its Web site, www.k-state.com; silver for @K-State, an electronic newsletter aimed at alumni and friends; two silver awards for the Tradition Founders program in the annual fund support and fundraising direct mail categories; silver for the Wabash CannonBall as a special event organized around a special occasion; bronze for K-Stater Magazine; and bronze for the fall 2009 cover of K-Stater Magazine, which focused on sustainability.
"We are certainly excited about this recognition," said Amy Button Renz, president and CEO of the K-State Alumni Association. "It is wonderful to see our external communications recognized for our continual efforts to keep members of the K-State family linked to the university. It's also gratifying to receive recognition for programming that supports the university in providing student scholarships and additional funding."
Awards earned by the Kansas State University Foundation included: two gold awards for Good for K-State magazine in the development writing and fundraising brochures/publications categories; and bronze for its K-State Marching Band DVD in the fundraising video/DVD category.
"It is always an honor to earn recognition from your peers," said Julie Lea, vice president for communications for the Kansas State University Foundation. "External communications are team efforts that help keep K-State close in the hearts and minds of our generous alumni and friends."
The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education is a worldwide organization supporting colleges and universities by enhancing the effectiveness of the alumni relations, communications and fundraising professionals who serve them. District 6 includes 188 member institutions in Kansas, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
