Continuing Kansas State University's tradition of engineering excellence, the graduate programs in the College of Engineering have been ranked among the nation's top 100 by U.S. News and World Report.
"As Kansas' premier land-grant institution, we are pleased to be ranked among such prestigious company," said John English, dean of K-State's College of Engineering. "We have heard President Kirk Schulz's vision to make K-State a top 50 public research university by 2025 and we can clearly see the opportunities before us."
In the rankings, K-State's graduate engineering program was ranked 99th. When compared to the graduate engineering programs at Big 12 universities, K-State was ranked eighth.
The latest report also looked at graduate programs offered by the nation's colleges of engineering. Among K-State's graduate programs, biological and agricultural engineering was the highest ranked at 18th. The college's graduate programs in chemical, computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering also made the U.S. News and World Report rankings.
U.S. News and World Report recently released its 2010 rankings for the best graduate schools in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and other areas. In addition, it has ranked several individual disciplines, all with an eye toward helping those who are college bound chose the best school.
