SERVICE, LEADERSHIP EARN STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIPS FROM K-STATE'S BLUE KEY

MANHATTAN -- Several Kansas State University students are receiving $500 scholarships from Blue Key, the senior leadership honor society at K-State.

Each year, Blue Key awards more than $20,000 in scholarships to recognize outstanding service and leadership by students at K-State. Students had to apply for the scholarships and Blue Key members selected the recipients.

This year's recipients and their scholarship include:

From Greater Kansas City: Marcus Bragg, freshman in industrial engineering, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship, and Morgan Franklin, junior in management, Chester E. Peters Student Development Award, both from Kansas City, Kan.; Ariel Anib, junior in criminology and Spanish, Chester E. Peters Student Development Award, Christina Farmer, freshman in hotel and restaurant management, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship, and Sean Kolich, senior in architectural engineering, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship, all from Olathe; Lauren Cody, sophomore in industrial engineering, Robert Lewis Sophomore Leadership Award, Mike Ellis, junior in biology, Walter Martin Memorial Scholarship, and Erin White, sophomore in family studies and human services, Blue Key Study Abroad Scholarship, all from Overland Park; Stephanie Larson, junior in pre-professional elementary education, Shawnee, Neal Atkinson Junior Service Award; and Hannah Rodlund, junior in management and marketing, Stilwell, Roy C. Langford Memorial Scholarship.

Jordan Bever, junior industrial engineering, Robert Lewis Sophomore Leadership Award, and Tai-Wen Ko, senior in electrical engineering, Roy C. Langford Memorial Scholarship, both from Hutchinson.

From Manhattan: Ricco Hall, freshman in sociology, Bernard Franklin Emerging Leader Award; Xiawen Guan, junior in accounting, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship; and Reyna Lay, freshman in apparel and textiles, Bernard Franklin Emerging Leader Award.

Alan Winter, senior in biological systems engineering, Mount Hope, Greg Hardin Memorial Scholarship; and Charissa Dugan, senior in accounting and finance, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship, and McKenzie Snow, junior in political science, Neal Atkinson Junior Service Award, both from Wichita.

From out of state: Blanca Pruitt, senior in American ethnic studies, Honolulu, Hawaii, Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship; Katie Gallagher, second-year student in architecture, St. Peters, Mo., Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship; and Leo Hernandez, senior in construction science and management, Hooker, Okla., Blue Key Outstanding Student Scholarship.
