K-STATE AT SALINA TO HAVE POWWOW AS PART OF DIVERSITY SUMMIT EVENTS
SALINA -- Kansas State University at Salina will have its second annual Diversity Powwow Saturday, April 10, as part of the college's Diversity Summit 2010.
Dancing and drumming will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, in the Student Life Center on the K-State at Salina campus. The powwow is free and the public is invited. A Native American-themed lunch will be available at the K-State at Salina cafeteria.
Also open to the public as part of Diversity Summit 2010 events is a high tea with April Mason, K-State's new provost, at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in the College Center Conference Room. At the tea, Mason will discuss the challenges facing women in the workplace. Reservations are required by contacting Jackie Tolbert at 785-826-2641 or jdhtol@k-state.edu. A donation of $6 will be collected at the door.
Diversity Summit events are sponsored by Women In Aviation and the offices of student life and college advancement.
